Tracks of a Wandering Mind

Poetry, stories and random thoughts from a wandering mind.

Simple Pleasure

A simple tanka for evening. (A tanka is a five-line structured poetry form dating to 7th century Japan.)

Quiet, the cool night
Stills the soul as the day fades.
The heart is at peace,
Wearied of day’s heavy load.
Rest, rest, find solace in sleep.
