I watch her creep slowly across her land,
Her silent-soft breath on branch and leaf,
Touch each field and glen with subtle hand,
White Princess brings sweet and welcome sleep.
Quiet now the day as silent the night
Her domain in white slumber resting.
No warmth conceals the winter wolf’s bite
As the White Princess bestows her blessing.
Asleep now the game in burrows so deep
Under night sky of a thousand lights,
Til warmth makes our gentle mistress weep
And rising sun stains her raiment of white.
Now as Lady Spring walks across the land,
The winter wolf wanes before her feet,
And Earth awakens rebirth at hand
As the White Princess returns to her keep.
